Just about to tuck into dinner tonight. Yep, blue potatoes from my allotment. The variety is called ‘Salad Blue’ and they really do look this blue.
(potatoes supplied by Thompson and Morgan). I can’t seem to get the kids to try it though. Perhaps if I make them into blue chips, they might change their mind.
Ive also just harvested some pink fir apple potatoes. These are those really quirky, nobbly pinkish potatoes that you see at fancy restaurants. Par boil them, then drizzle them with olive oil and bake them in the oven for 45 mins and you will have the most delicious gourmet chips imaginable.
